Start with the real picture

Surrogacy can be meaningful. It is also a serious commitment.

You will attend appointments, take medication, communicate consistently, and make room for a pregnancy that belongs to another family. You should never be rushed into that decision or asked to move forward without understanding what may happen.

We want you to know: You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin. Asking questions, taking your time, and deciding whether surrogacy is right for you are all part of making an informed choice.

Could surrogacy be a fit for you?

Every woman's history is different. These six starting requirements help us understand whether surrogacy may be safe, realistic, and worth exploring further.

The starting points we review together

Previous pregnancy and delivery

You have had at least one generally healthy pregnancy and delivery and can provide your pregnancy and delivery records for review.

Age range

You are generally between 21 and 43 years old when you apply. The fertility clinic makes the final medical determination.

U.S. residency status

You are a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident currently living in the United States.

Stable home and support

You have a stable home, reliable transportation, childcare when needed, and at least one dependable person who supports your decision.

Health and lifestyle

Your BMI is generally below 35, and you do not smoke, vape nicotine, or use illegal drugs. Some clinics may use different medical guidelines.

Mental and emotional readiness

You are emotionally prepared for the journey and do not have an untreated or unstable mental health condition. Mild situational or postpartum anxiety or depression may be considered individually.

These are starting guidelines, not a final eligibility decision. Your medical, pregnancy, and personal history will be reviewed individually by Vias and the fertility clinic.

Your time at medical screening matters.

If you are invited to fertility-clinic screening and complete all required screening appointments, you receive a $500 Medical Screening Commitment Payment, even if the clinic does not ultimately clear you to proceed.

Full application and screening

You complete the detailed application, records process, background review, psychological evaluation, household review, and insurance review.

Choose a match

We introduce Intended Parents whose plans and expectations appear aligned with yours. Both sides decide whether the match feels right.

Medical and legal clearance

The clinic completes screening. You have your own independent attorney. Escrow and insurance protections are confirmed before medication begins.

Transfer and pregnancy

Vias coordinates communication, travel, reimbursements, milestones, pregnancy support, and the many details outside your medical care.

Delivery and postpartum

We plan for the hospital, insurance, parentage, recovery, payments, counseling, and support after delivery or pregnancy loss.

You are never navigating appointments, paperwork, or next steps alone. Vias stays in the loop with you at every stage.

Protection before promises

You should not have to guess where the money, insurance, or legal support comes from.

  • Your compensation and benefits are agreed before your profile is presented.
  • Intended Parents review and accept your financial terms before the introductory meeting.
  • An independent escrow company holds and disburses journey funds.
  • You have independent legal counsel paid by the Intended Parents.
  • Maternity coverage and life/accidental-death insurance are confirmed before medication.
  • Vias tracks reimbursement requests and follows up until approved funds are on the way.

Matching is mutual. You may ask questions, take time, and decline a proposed match. Your comfort, values, family, and boundaries matter before anyone moves toward transfer.

Will I get attached to the baby?

Most surrogates describe pride and connection to the experience without a parental bond to the baby. Feelings can still be complex, and counseling support is available.

What if something goes wrong medically?

Pregnancy carries real risk. Your medical team directs your care, and the program includes insurance planning, medical-event benefits, bed-rest support, and coordination when circumstances change.

Do I have to accept the Intended Parents Vias introduces?

No. You choose, too. The introductory meeting is for both sides to decide whether the relationship and expectations feel compatible.

What happens if a transfer fails or a pregnancy ends?

You did not fail. Vias coordinates the contractual payments, next-step communication, and additional pregnancy-loss counseling.

Will I have to pay journey expenses myself?

Required screening, approved travel, insurance arrangements, and covered journey expenses are paid directly or reimbursed under the program terms.
